Hydraulic Cylinder Repair & Rebuilds
Mill, press, crane and mobile cylinders resealed, rebuilt or remanufactured in our Lake Barrington shop, then pressure-tested before they ship. Nationwide pickup and delivery, 24/7.

Every cylinder rebuild, start to finish
Worn seals, pistons, glands and wear bands replaced. Custom seals made in-house when kits are discontinued.
Bent rods straightened on our press. Scored or pitted rods re-chromed, or new induction-hardened chrome rods machined.
Scored barrels honed to restore the finish. Deeply damaged barrels honed oversize with a matching custom piston.
Damaged threads re-cut, clevis and rod eyes welded and bored back to size.
Every cylinder is tested for leaks and holding pressure before it leaves the shop.
You get the findings on what failed and why before any rebuild work is approved.

Common questions
Can a bent cylinder rod be fixed?
Most bent rods can be straightened on our press. If the rod is past its limit or the chrome is cracked, we machine a new one in-house.
Why is my cylinder leaking right after a seal change?
Usually barrel scoring or a nicked rod tearing the new seals. We hone the barrel and inspect the rod so the rebuild holds.
Is it better to repair or replace a cylinder?
Repair is usually less expensive than a new OEM cylinder and avoids the lead time. The teardown report tells you which makes sense.
